Our firm is led by Raúl Bertero (1955) and his two sons: Agustín (1987) y Santiago Bertero (1994). Raúl’s father, Domingo Bertero, received his engineering diploma from Universidad Nacional del Litoral where he studied with his second cousin, later emeritus professor and researcher at UC Berkeley, Vitelmo Bertero (1923). Vitelmo, recognized around the world as one of the fathers of modern Seismic Engineering (and Ph.D. advisor of Raúl Bertero), was known among academics in USA as “Vit”, serving as his nickname.

We adopted the name “VIT Ingeniería” as a homage, both academic and professional, to the legacy of Vitelmo and his contributions to Structural Engineering, as well as a tribute to the origins of the Bertero family (among others), who emigrated from northern Italy in the second half of the XIX century and arrived to the plains of Santa Fe to build the country where we live and carry out our professional activity.
