Dr. Ing. Raúl Bertero

Raúl Bertero, Vice-dean of the school of engineering at Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), received his Civil Engineering degree and Ph.D. at UBA, and his Master of Science at UC Berkeley. He’s full professor (with tenure) at UBA. He’s a member of the Academia Nacional de Ingeniería and has been recognized with a number of prestigious awards, including “Ing. Butty”, Academia Nacional de Ingeniería; “Ing. Delpini”, Academia Nacional de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales; “Nacional de Ingeniería”, Secretaría de Cultura de la Nación; “La Ingeniería”, Centro Argentino de Ingenieros;  and “Gran Maestro”, Universidad de Buenos Aires.

Bertero is the director of the Masters program in Energy at UBA, the Master of Science in Engineering program at UBA, and the Masters program in Structural Engineering at Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN). An ACI fellow, he’s a member of subcommittee D, members, and subcommittee L, international liaison, for ACI-318, as well as the president of Argentina’s ACI chapter. He’s the founding director of the Laboratorio de Dinámica de Estructuras at UBA since 2008. His research interests include structural dynamics, earthquake-resistant design, solid mechanics and structural reliability, having contributed more than 80 publications and presentations in related conferences and events.


Dr. Ing. Agustín Bertero

Agustín Bertero received his Civil Engineering degree and Ph.D. at UBA, and his Master of Science at University of California, Berkeley. He’s a former Fulbright scholar and Peruilh fellow. Currently, he’s an Assistant Profesor at UBA, teaching Experimental Methods, and also at UTN where he teaches Earthquake-resistant Design. He’s also a faculty member of the Masters program in Structural Engineering at UTN, where he teaches Nonlinear Structural Analysis, and Experimental Methods in Structural Engineering.

    


Mg. Ing. Santiago Bertero

Santiago Bertero received his Civil Engineering degree at Universidad de Buenos Aires and his Master of Science at Virginia Tech. He’s currently a Ph.D. student at UBA as a Peruilh fellow. He’s also a faculty member of the Masters program in Structural Engineering at UTN, teaching Structural Mechanics. In his short career, Santiago has received the following awards: “Ing. Luis M. Machado”, Asociación de Ingenieros Estructurales; “Ing. Isidoro Marín”, Academia Nacional de Ingeniería; and “Young Practicing Engineer”, American Concrete Institute, among others.
